At the closing conference of the fourth national congress of the Chinese Bridge Associations, the general manager of Shenzhen Nanguang Power Co., Ltd, Mr. Chen Shenghong, with the title of vice president of bridge association, was elected specially-invited vice chairman of Chinese bridge associations, which was the reward of his concern and support over the bridge game.
The conference was held in Guoyi Hotel on 15-04-2008. It lasted for two days. Over 80 representatives from various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, etc. directed under the Central Government industrial association respectively attended the meeting. All representatives listened to the work report made by chief secretary Mr. Fan Wenguang whose report was discussed and audited. The theme of the report is to catch opportunities, to make progress, to make further reform, to enhance service, to boost the further development of the bridge game. The report reviewed the work for the past years and meanwhile put forward the goal in the coming 5 years.
The fourth administrative mechanism was elected during the meeting. Liu Siming, the director of general bureau of national sports, was made vice president meanwhile the other 8 memberships were elected specially-invited vice presidents, e.g. Mr. Ren Zhiqiang, etc. At the closing ceremony the president of Chinese Bridge Association, Mr. Xiang Huaicheng, came up with 6 Chinese characters----generalization, improvement, service, which would be the target of work in future. The president said that generalization not only generalize such an intellectual game and increase the number of amateurs but generalize the knowledge and culture on Bridge and make more people know the connotation of it. Then more people would like it and pay attention to its development. To the improvement, we should improve the level of contest, enhance the construction of national team, and scale the heights firstly. At the same time, all aspects should be improved in construction of coach and referee teams, the intensity of dissemination and the overall qualities. Service would be implemented in the subsequent work as a type of conception and attitude of Chinese bridge and its workers. The condition for providing amateurs with convenience, orderliness and wholesome and sustainable to play bridge is service. Besides, service could facilitate to set up sound regulation system for the development of bridge. The work of generalization and improvement could not be well accomplished if we did not reinforce the sense of service. Mr. Li Lanqing, the honorable president of bridge association, and Mr. Liu Peng, the director of general bureau of national sport, saw the representatives and had photos with them for commemoration. The assistant of director of general bureau of national sports was present at the closing ceremony and addressed the speech.
