On the afternoon of 15th Jan.2008, it snowed heavily and the temperature dropped abruptly in Nanjing. The meeting room of Nanjing Machinery Staff Institute was full of warmth and love. The applause echoed again and again.
The awarding meeting of Nanguang Scholarship Aiding Fund was held here. The leaders and some of representatives of institute were present at the meeting as well as the students, who won the scholarship and the leaders from Nanguang Power. Li Xiaolu, the Secretary of Party Committee, presided over the meeting and addressed speech at the beginning. He indicated that scholarship and aiding scholarship was the precious resource of institute which gathered the hope and care of the state and enterprises upon the underprivileged who performed well in both personality and study. He also put forward three pieces of hope toward the students who won the scholarship. Subsequently, the President Li announced the name list who won scholarship and aiding scholarship of state and Nanguang Power Co., Ltd. He inspired and required the other students should follow the example of the excellent, strive to study and make progress. In view of this, the learning atmosphere of studying diligently and self-reliance will be established. Mr. Li stressed the distribution condition of scholarship and aiding scholarship of Nanguang Power which mainly helped the underprivileged students. The leaders of institute awarded scholarship, inspiration scholarship and aiding scholarship of state. Then, the leaders from Nanguang Power awarded the scholarship and aiding scholarship. The students who won scholarship delivered speech at the meeting. The General Manager Mr. Li Jiaxiang delivered speech at the meeting and claimed Nanguang Power shall carry on the system of scholarship. And meanwhile, he donated 10,000 RMB Yuan to help the student who suffered leukemia on behalf of Nanguang Power. He sincerely hoped that the student defeat the devil of illness and come back to school as soon as possible. His speech won much applause. At length, Mr. Zhou, another president of the institute, addressed a summing-up speech. Mr. Zhou expressed his sincere gratitude to the donation of Nanguang Power and meanwhile conveyed his congratulations to the students who won the scholarship. Mr. Zhou mentioned that the local government attached importance and care on the vocational education and place stronger force on facilitation. Mr. Zhou praised Nanguang Power for her valued training of elites and education and had the strong responsibility for society. Eventually, he thanked the industrious work of teachers and their support to the leaders of institute. The inner hearts of the people who attended the meeting were fraught with excitement and the meeting closed at a joyous atmosphere with warm applause.
